I was born and raised in San Francisco in a time of dramatic social change 50-80's. The City was alive with new ways of experiencing life and an epicurean philosophy governed the city's inhabitants, no matter what their background or lifestyle.
I learned cooking from my Sicilian grandmother and mastered her techniques and our customs at an early age. I used to watch my mother's employer, Marcel as he created French, Pièces de résistance in his Victorian home based shop. My aunt worked as the Advertising Director of The City of Paris and introduced me to Julia Child when she was first publishing her book, Mastering the Art of French Cooking, as well as many other famous chefs.
In the early 1980's my family opened and operated a restaurant in San Francisco called, The Hydeaway Cafe, on Hyde Street. Many of our fine chefs revealed their secrets to me and my love creating fine dining experiences grew.
After receiving my Masters, I went into the profession of adult education in the fields of Religious Studies, Mythology and History. During that time, I hosted group tours throughout the world and found my two other passions; travel and education.
In 2001, became a Travel Agent because I enjoy serving in a field that gives people such delight and happiness as they head out on dream vacations and become educated in the cultures, history and people they encounter.
After 8 years of growth, experience, education and expertise in the field of general travel, I decided to marry my three passions FOOD, EDUCATION, and TRAVEL to serve an exclusive clientele of professionals and people who have the same three passions as I do.
