• Continental Airlines announced they will join the Star Alliance mileage program that includes United and Lufthansa effective Oct 27, 2009. Continental is currently a member of Sky Team which includes Delta and Air France. One Pass members can continue to earn and redeem miles or make reward reservations on Sky Team partners until Oct 24, 2009.
  

• Anyone with a Northwest airline ticket should confirm their flight number before going to the airport. Since their merger with Delta most flight numbers will be changed, effective Saturday October 24 for International flights and Sunday, November 1 for domestic departures.
  

• Southwest Airlines has initiated a new seating policy effective now.  For an extra $10.00 each way passengers can reserve a boarding position prior to the general boarding check-in which begins 24 hours prior to departure.  This allows those passengers to start boarding after elite fliers and makes them eligible for the better seating as Southwest does not offer advanced seat assignments.  These priority boarding passes can be purchased up to 25 hours prior to departure time.
  

• November at the National Geographic Museum in Washington, DC there will be an exhibit of 15 of China’s famous terra cotta warriors.  Make plans to go now as there will be limited tickets available and 33,000 have already been sold.  Event tickets can be purchased online at www.warriorsdc.org and your air and hotel can be arranged by Adventure Bound Travel.  Don’t delay!
